“The page awaits, pretending to be blank.”

It’s the beginning of a new month, and I’m sitting with a blank page and so many ideas that my brain has gone into overload. The ideas are circling and layering on top of one another so fast that I’m losing any thread of clarity about what wants to be written.

February is a month of celebrating love and relationships, so I might remind you that loving your spaces is an important part of clearing the way to a more meaningful life.

Our spaces deserve love, too, don’t they?

Ultimately this is what we do when we clear away the clutter. As we create space for what matters, we open to even more love and happiness.

But somehow, with all that is happening in the world, that message seems too small. In the larger scope of things, does it even matter that I write? Will it matter that I inspire someone to clear their clutter so they might live with more joy and meaning?

Perhaps it won’t, but as I was surfing around looking for inspiration, I landed on a Pioneer Thinking article about The Butterfly Effect. It sounded like something I might write. (I actually have written about this on a number of occasions…but today I needed to hear it from someone else.)

I decided to flap my wings and pass this excerpt along to you.

The butterfly does not create or power the tornado. The flap of the wings is part of the initial conditions that can lead to a chain of events leading to a larger-scale chain of events. Had the butterfly not flapped its wings, the trajectory of the system might have been vastly different.

So what does this mean for us? It means that everything we do matters.
We are all put on this earth with a purpose.

When you know that everything you do matters, you matter.

In a world of chaos, violence and economic upheaval, it’s more important than ever that we reach deep inside and let our own light to shine.

Last week, as I was signing books, a phrase kept showing up consistently for me to write: “You Matter.” I felt such a powerful surge of love every time I connected to the heart of those words and the person I was giving them to.

So this is what I’m guided to write now, as we move into another month of hugs & kisses, whether or not candy & flowers are involved.

Your love matters.

Every simple thing you do to shine a bit of loving kindness toward someone else, whether it’s your child or a neighbor, your friend or a stranger, these are the butterfly flaps that will ultimately change our world.

I invite you to open the wings of your heart wide this month, and embrace the world with all the Love you have.

It might not ever seem like enough, but it is everything.

With Love, Shining Sora
